Award Background:
- The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development in the UAE organizes Al Burda Award since 1425 H/2004 A.D.& commemorating the anniversary of Prophet Mohammed “PBUH”.
- The Ministry seeks to make Al Burda award as a leading pioneer award in the Islamic world as celebrating the the birth of Prophet Mohammed “PBUH” every year represents a memorable ceremony in the hearts of all Muslims. The award honors winners in all competitions subject to the birth of Prophet Mohammed “PBUH” and his biography.
- Al Burda award is a competition open to all poets from within and outside the UAE in eloquent poetry and nabati poetry for the purpose of praising the prophet “PBUH” and his biography. The award presents other competitions in tradition and modern Arabic calligraphy, traditional decoration all over the world.
General Conditions:
- key factors in evaluating presented artworks are the quality of work, creativity and aesthetics senses.
- computers must not be used in implementing any of the artworks
- all artworks must be signed by the participants
- participation is open for within and outside the UAE.
- presented artworks or poems must not be already submitted in previous exhibitions or other competitions, or printed anywhere inside or outside the UAE. If proven, the award shall be withdrawn from the participant
- an participant may participate in all the categories on condition he/she presents one sample for each category with the exception of the traditional classical style he/she may present one model for each category.
- resorted paintings that did not win may be returned to their owners within 30 days from the announcement of results and handed over either by hand to the artist himself or his/her representative at the premises of the Ministry of Culture in Dubai. Participants may not be allowed to claim the painting after the above mentioned period.
- the award’s management is not responsible for late arrival, damage of sent paintings or poems.
- a business card must be attached to the artwork or used material stating clearly the participant’s valid passport by email to burda@mcycd.ae
- all registration forms must be filled in through the award’s website in a period not less than one month before the competition: www.burda.ae
- all participants are requested to send their participation whether a poem, Arabic calligraphy, decoration means his/her acceptance to the endorsed terms and conditions.
- -deadline for submitting artworks 26th October 2010. Winners will be honored during the month of Rabea Al Awal 1431 H.
